About Us

Crawford McCann’s heritage is drawn from internationally recognised programmes including ‘Top Gear’ BBC, ‘Tonight’ ITV & ‘Watchdog’ BBC. The company’s team has made programmes for Discovery US, Channel 4, Sky & RTE before setting up on their own in 2011. Since then they’ve become one Northern Ireland’s most successful production companies.

Our Head of Development is working closely with commissioners at RTE, BBC, UTV, UTV Ireland and TV3 to produce a range of documentaries and specialist factual projects. Recently we secured a new commission from BBC Northern Ireland to make a factual landmark one hour documentary and have secured Cat Lewis from Nine Lives as our Executive Producer.


Crawford McCann is in pre-production on a major documentary feature film with the backing of the National Lottery Arts Fund and Northern Ireland Screen plus they've secured a distribution deal with Sideways Films.


Crawford McCann is committed to developing local young talent as well as regular mentoring the company recently sponsored the Royal Television Society Northern Ireland Student Awards.

‘Rare Breed’

For UTV and UTV Ireland, is the UK’s most popular regional non- news factual programme. This 12 part specialist factual series, charting the farming year in Ireland, is now in its fifth year. Flame Distribution has also sold ‘Rare Breed’ to several countries including New Zealand, Iran, Australia and Greece.
